Teak

We apply passion and skill in production - the kind that comes with ancient crafts and centuries-old skills handed down through generations. S2DIO has perfected the art of crafting furniture from Teak, carefully selecting the wood prior to manufacture to ensure components are used in the most effective way. Due to natural variations in the wood, each product and finish may vary slightly when exposed to the elements. Teak will provide you with longevity and a firm feeling of reliability when used outdoors. Teak will form a silver patina on the surface when it is exposed to the sun over time. This is perfectly normal and considered part of the teaks life cycle with many connoisseurs of teak actually preferring the silver patina as a symbol of originality.

Maintaining Teak

- Use a dry, clean cloth to dust furniture weekly.
- For spot cleaning, spray off any debris with a hose and brush off any dirt or debris with a soft-bristle brush. Spores that create mould and mildew thrive in environments with dirt and moisture. Dry with a soft cloth.
- New teak will experience oil surfacing. These areas, which look like a water mark, can be removed by gentle washing.
- Avoid letting water stand on the surface of your furniture and cushions.
- When furniture is not in use for an extended period of time, protect it by covering or storing it. Before covering, furniture needs to be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Cushions should be removed and stored in a dry place if possible.

  • Helps to prevent stains while keeping the natural look of the surface
  • Allows moisture vapour transmission
  • With built-in Mould & Mildew inhibitor
  • Also maintains the beautiful patina grey teak colour for longer

Golden Care® Teak Protector: Teak Protectors helps to maintain the golden brown colour of teak for a long time.

  • It maintains the golden-brown colour of teak for a longer time.
  • Teak-oil often causes black spots on teak. Our protector prevents black spots.
  • Our teak protector is not an oil and it is not greasy, so clothes stay clean.
  • Most teak-oils/sealers contain hazardous solvents/voc’s.
Our protector is completely water-based and solvent-free: that is why we call it EcoSafe.

Aluminium

Aluminium is an ideal metal for outdoor use as it is strong but also lightweight. All S2dio aluminium is electrostatically coated with environmentally friendly paint which is toughened to minimise scratching and chipping. Aluminium does not rust so the furniture can be kept outside all year around and is corrosion resistant meaning that it will not rust, irrespective of how long it is kept outdoors. The result is furniture that’s virtually maintenance-free.

Maintaining Aluminium

- Use a dry, clean cloth to dust furniture weekly.
- For spot cleaning, spray off any debris with a hose and brush off any dirt or debris with a soft-bristle brush. Spores that create mould and mildew thrive in environments with dirt and moisture. Dry with a soft cloth.
- Avoid hitting metal furniture pieces against one another and avoid dragging along the ground. On table tops, we recommend placemats to avoid scratches that can chip the finish and promote oxidization.
- Avoid letting water stand on the surface of your furniture and cushions.
- When furniture is not in use for an extended period of time, protect it by covering or storing it. Before covering, furniture needs to be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Cushions should be removed and stored in a dry place if possible.

Cushions

The majority of S2dio's cushions are made from colourfast, Olefin material which is a hardy, water resistant, resin based fabric. We also use polyester fabric which is a natural material but in either event we always recommend storing cushions inside as the foam cores are not weather resistant. When your furniture is not in use for significant periods of time please place it under a form of shelter with careful attention to ensure both furniture and fabric are dry prior to storage.

Maintaining Cushions

- Use a dry, clean cloth to dust furniture weekly.
- For spot cleaning, spray off any debris with a hose and brush off any dirt or debris with a soft-bristle brush. Spores that create mould and mildew thrive in environments with dirt and moisture. Dry with a soft cloth.
- Avoid letting water stand on the surface of your furniture and cushions.
- When furniture is not in use for an extended period of time, protect it by covering or storing it. Before covering, furniture needs to be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Cushions should be removed and stored in a dry place if possible.

Golden Care® Upholstery, Rope & Fabric Protector: Fabrics for outdoor cushions, seatings, rope and parasols are most of the time thoroughly impregnated which makes them water & stain resistant.
But just like with suede shoes, you can keep also your fabrics looking like new for longer when you regularly give them a water repellent treatment with Fabric Protector.
